Full-day sightseeing tour of Delhi.
After breakfast, your sightseeing tour of Delhi will begin. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide at your disposal. You will visit the following sites:
Drive past the Red Fort:
Delhi’s most famous monument, the Red Fort, is a powerful reminder of the Mughal emperors who once ruled India. Its walls, stretching over two kilometers, were built in 1638 to keep invaders out.
Jama Masjid:
The Jama Masjid is another wonderful treasure of Old Delhi and is India’s largest mosque. Its courtyard can accommodate 25,000 devotees. The construction of the mosque took 13 years and was completed in 1650.
Humayun’s Tomb:
If you think Humayun’s Tomb looks a bit like the Taj Mahal in Agra, it’s because it served as inspiration for the creation of the Taj Mahal. The tomb was built in 1570 and houses the body of the second Mughal emperor, Humayun.
Qutub Minar:
Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret, is an incredible example of early Indo-Islamic architecture. It was built in 1206, but the reason behind its construction remains a mystery.
India Gate:
The imposing arch of India Gate in central New Delhi is a war memorial, built in memory of Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army in World War I. It glows warmly under the lights at night.
In time, you will drive to Jaipur for an overnight stay. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 3: Jaipur
After breakfast, proceed to visit the following sites.
Amber Fort: The ancient capital of the Kachhwahas sits atop a series of rugged hills. The fort is notable for both the majesty of its surroundings and its sturdy walls and beautiful palaces. It is a fine blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. The solemn dignity of its red sandstone and white marble pavilions, reflected in the lake at the foot of the hill, is a sight to behold.
Jal Mahal:
On the way to Amer, this small palace is situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. Renovation around the lake is in progress.
City Palace:
Located in the heart of the old city, it occupies about one-seventh of the old city’s area. The palace is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture; it houses a Seven-Storied Chandra Mahal in the center, offering a good view of the gardens and the city.
Hawa Mahal:
Built-in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, it is Jaipur’s most recognizable monument. The semi-octagonal, five-story monument with 152 windows with hanging latticed balconies is an excellent piece of Rajput architecture.
Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 4: Jaipur – Agra
Drive from Jaipur to Agra: 240 KM/4 hours journey
After breakfast, proceed to Agra (visit en route Fatehpur Sikri). Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel, and later, begin a sightseeing tour of Agra. You will visit the following sites:
Fatehpur Sikri:
Built by Akbar, the Mughal emperor in 1570, the city was a tribute to the Sufi saint. Fatehpur Sikri is a perfect blend of Indian, Islamic, and Persian architecture and was built using red sandstone. For about 10 years, the city was the capital of the Mughal Empire.
Then proceed to Agra and check-in at your hotel. Later visit
Agra Fort:
You would regret missing Agra Fort during your visit to Agra. The 16th-century monument is another testament to the Mughals’ architectural brilliance. This is located near the gardens of the world-famous Taj Mahal. Called Agra’s Red Fort, you will be amazed by the powerful fortress.
Overnight in Agra.
Day 5: Agra – Delhi
Drive from Agra to Delhi: 235 KM/4 hours journey
Early morning visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise, spend 2 hours inside the Taj Mahal campus with a private guide, then return to the hotel and after breakfast, check-out and proceed to Delhi.
Taj Mahal:
You cannot think of Agra without thinking of the Taj Mahal. Or, maybe you wouldn’t have thought of Agra if it weren’t for the monument of love. The Taj Mahal, the white marble beauty, was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The monument stands as proof of Mughal architecture brilliance. Named as one of the wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal withstands the test of time. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983.
